In the fall of 1984 they found an abandoned church in Cuylerville and asked if they could rent the church from the owner. The owner was willing to let them use the church and make repairs on their own. In December of 1985, the church voted to become constituted and had over 25 members. They voted to keep the missionary, David Brown, as their first pastor. In 1987 they purchased land on Lakeville Road, also known as Rt.20A, in Geneseo. In the summer of 1988, with the help of several churches from Georgia, the present building of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church was built.

Pleasant Valley Baptist Worship Experience

Pleasant Valley Baptist holds dear to our traditional beginnings but has embraced the contemporary flair of worship style as is apparent in our blended praise and worship offered on Sundays. Our goal is to bridge the gap and enhance worship experience for all as well as deliver Christ centered teaching and a family atmosphere for all. We offer Sunday School at 10AM and Worship Service at 11AM on Sundays. For midweek fellowship and refreshing we offer Bible Study at 6:30PM on Wednesdays with a time of offering up Prayer and Praises to the Lord following.

For homebound or others not able to reguarly attend and to spread the Gospel we broadcast Pastor Don's teachings on WYSL 1040 AM on Sundays at 7:30AM that are webcasted on www.wysl1040.com.

What We Believe

The Bible is the inspired word of God made complete in the life and teachings of Christ
All Scripture is God-breathed and is used for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in the righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work – 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV

Salvation is the free gift of God but is given to us only when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord of our life.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life – John 3:16 NIV

Jesus Christ is Lord, and every area of our life is subject to his Lordship
Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me: - Luke 9:23 NIV

Every believer has direct access to God through Jesus Christ.
Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NIV

The Holy Spirit of God lives in each redeemed follower of Jesus Christ.
And I will ask the father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. – John 16:13 NIV

Sharing the Good News is the responsibility of every Christian.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. – Matthew 28:19-20 NIV
