What to Expect
We seek to honor God in all we do while bridging the gap
between contemporary and traditional worship. You can join us
in suit and tie, t-shirt and shorts, or anything in between.
We don't have it all together; we may occasionally skip a beat
during worship or miss a note, but we worship with our whole
hearts. And we strive to follow the leading of the Holy
Spirit.
At Pleasant Valley children are welcomed, and embraced. Our
Children's Ministry is fully equipped for infants to 6th
grade. We are excited to share God's word with your children
while you attend the sermon.
Our Sunday service begins at 11:00a.m. For homebound or others
not able to regularly attend, and to spread the Gospel, we
broadcast Pastor Don's sermons on WYSL 1040 AM on Sundays at

Our Core Values
We believe that Jesus is central to everything. We believe
that prayer is a direct line to God, and that we should speak
to Him every chance we get. Worship is our chance to praise
God, and we take joy in doing so.
The Bible is the inspired word of God made complete in the
life and teachings of Christ
All Scripture is God-breathed and is used for teaching,
rebuking, correcting and training in the righteousness, so
that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every
good work.
Salvation is the free gift of God, but is given to us only
when we accept Jesus Christ as Lord of our life
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only
Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have
eternal life.
Jesus Christ is Lord, and every area of our life is subject
to his Lordship
Then he said to them all: “If anyone would come after me, he
must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow
me":
Every believer has direct access to God through Jesus Christ
Jesus answered, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No
one comes to the Father except through me.”
The Holy Spirit of God lives in each redeemed follower of
Jesus Christ
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another
Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of Truth. The
world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor
knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will
be in you.
Sharing the Good News is the responsibility of every
Christian
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have
commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very
end of the age.
Our History
In 1983 the Director of Missions for the Greater Rochester
Baptist Association had a vision for a new church start in
Livingston County. He contacted a couple that worked the
summer before for the association doing missionary work as
their internship for seminary. In the fall of 1984 they found
an abandoned church in Cuylerville and asked if they could
rent the church from the owner. The owner was willing to let
them use the church and make repairs on their own.
In December of 1985, the church voted to become constituted,
and had over 25 members. They voted to keep the missionary,
David Brown, as their first pastor. In 1987, they purchased
land on Lakeville Road, also known as Rt.20A, in Geneseo. In
the summer of 1988, with the help of several churches from
Georgia, the present building of Pleasant Valley Baptist
Church was built.
